Fine Art

Living in a world of digital screens and technology Bockwoldt yearns for opportunities to disconnect and embrace classical mediums of fine art. Bockwoldt’s extensive background in fine art has taught her how to use and embrace various mediums over the years. The most notable challenges are the uniqueness of each medium, and how they react differently. Each medium offers a distinctly unique way to tell a story through the transfer of pigment to canvas. The wonder, challenges, and messiness of artesian work continue to propel Bockwoldt too create with her hands.

Painting

One of Bockwoldt’s favorite mediums to work with is oil paint because of the flexibility and depth of color on canvas. The paint can be applied in numerous ways, from thin glazes to thick impasto. The slow process of layering paint over time adds to the richness of how each piece is unique in telling its own story.

Life Drawing

When Bockwoldt is asked what her favor subject to draw is, there is no hesitation in her answer, “figure drawing” she replies. She enjoys the process of capturing reality, and training ones eye to see the complexity of form in front of them.

Illustrations

With creative ideas constantly flowing, Bockwoldt turns to the quick use of her tablet to create simplistic minimal illustrations. Bockwoldt loves the ability to create pieces on the go whether its on the beach, sitting atop a mountain, or spending an evening letting the mind wonder on the couch.
